Park;~ and Recreation conunission Minutes
Regular Meeting
June 12, 1979
Chairman Joe Betz called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Members
present were: Joe Betz, Pat Boyle, Mary Muehlhausen, and Phyllis Pope.
A motion was made by Pat Boyle and seconded by Phyllis Pope
the May minutes as follows: In Paragraph 4 add "and change
to alleviate the drainage problem of the Carlson property."

Motion
Pat Boyle made a motion to have staff contact the city engineer and three
other engineering firms to get estimates of what they would charge
for a design and drainage plan for entrance of the park, drainage of
the Carlson property and design a walking trail down into the park.
The Park and Recreation Commission authorizes staff to proceed if the
price is under $1,000. Consultation with the Park and Recreation
Commission is required. Phyllis Pope seconded the motion. Motion
passed. No negative votes.

Prepare a workable plan for the next meeting to review program dates.
The Park and Recre.at1on commission wishes to have Lotus Lake as a
top preliminary priority in making application for LAWCON funding.
Pat Boyle made a motion to submit an application for funds to the state
to develop a boat access on Lotus Lake in 1980. Phyllis Pope seconded
the motion. Motion passed. No negative votes.
Park and Recreation Preliminary priority for development of lakes:
1. Lotus Lake
2. Lake Riley
3. Lake Susan
4. Lake Lucy
5. Lake Ann
The Commission would like to discourage out of town picnic on weekends
at Lake Ann.

Mary Muehlhausen made a motion to appoint Ellis Thomas to the position
vacated by Denis Stedman on the Park and Recreation Commission. Joe
Betz seconded the motion. Motion carried. No negative votes.
Phyllis Pope made a motion to have staff check with County Sheriff on
getting one of the new boys for Lake Ann. Pat Boyle seconded the
motion. Motion passed. No negative votes.
