PARK AND RECREATION MINUTES - February 3, 1970

The meeting started at 8:05 p.m. in the Chanhassen Village Hall.
The following members were present: Sally deLancey, Steve Wolf,
Harvey Will, Gladys McCary, Conrad Fiskness, Don Slathar, and
Arnold Weimerskirch.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A motion was made by Don Slathar and seconded by Steve Wolf
to recommend to the Council to approve paying Gladys McCary $3.14
for the InSEant Print Bill.
HOCKEY RINK
Gladys McCary is going to check about getting additional help
for the rink as there were 45 boys who showed up to play, and
one man cannot handle that many.
Conrad Fiskness is checking into getting a program set up which
has certain hours for hockey and public free skating: set up hours
for the lights to be turned on, and off; and any other rules which
are needed.

SKATING RINK IN BACK OF COLONIAL CENTER: There is a problem
at this rink with children using the Apartment house for a warming
house. Future offenders will be delt with by the police department.
An article will be put in the local paper stating the above.
It was decided that the members will take turns in checking the
rinks twice a week to see that the maintenance is kept up.
WINTER PROGRAM: Gladys reported that guitar lessons are doing
fine. There are 11 in the ceramics class arid only 12 registered
in Volley Ball.
Arnold was selected to make a study on Park-School complexes.
Summer programs were discussed. Sally and Gladys were chosen
to study the coming summer plans.
SNOWMOBILE: It was decided to invite the snowmobile club members
to the next meeting.
SENIOR CITIZENS: Helen Clausen will be invited to the first meeting
in March to give a report on the Senior Citizens.
The board would like a financial report from the Treasurer by their
next meeting, that goes through January.
Don Slathar with the help of Steve Wolf & Sally DeLancey are to make
a study on TOTLOTS.
