Sign Ordinance Variance Request - Opus Corporation
Waibel presented a summary of Opus's request for a sign variance.
Opus is requesting approval of a free-standing temporary real
estate sign at the southeast corner of the intersection of Park
Drive and Highway 5. Waibel explained that the sign measured 71
feet by 4 feet (30 square feet) on each of the two sign display
faces and measuring 9t feet in height from the ground to the top
of the sign. The sign is to be constructed of plywood and
anchored by 5 wooden posts.
Albee questioned the number of Opus signs already in existence
in the Business Park and the actual size of the sign, since the
application stated different dimensions than that of the packet.
Conrad brought up the fact that the sign would stay up until all the
office space was leased, plus 7 days beyond that date. His
concerns were at what point would all the space be leased.
M. Thompson moved, seconded by Noziska, to table this request
until Opus representatives could be in attendance to present
their reasons for requesting the proposed signage. All voted in
favor and the motion carried.
