Dear Mr. Generous:
Thank you for the opportunity to review the above referenced site plan that our agency received August
19,2006. MnlDOT Metro District staff has reviewed the proposed plan and has the following comments.
Please address these comments prior to further development.
Drainage:
· A MnlDOT Drainage permit is required. We have received the drainage calculations and
information needed for the review of the drainage permit byMnlDOT. A site visit to the location
of the proposed development is being scheduled at this time, and we hope to complete that visit
within the next several weeks. We will review the drainage calculations and information and
provide comments to the Mn/DOT Metro District Permits Office at that time. Please contact
Byrce Fossand at (651-634-2408 ) in MnlDOT's Water Resources with any questions regarding
this issue.
Permits:
Mn/DOT Metro District Permits Office has received the drainage permit application. As noted
above, we expect to receive comments from the Mn/DOT Water Resources Engineering staff
regarding the requested drainage permit in the next several several weeks. Any use of or work
impacting MnlDOT right of way requires a permit. Please provide one set of 11 x 17 inch plan
sheets, and a large set (30 x 30 inches, for example) in connection with this drainage permit
application. Permit forms are available from MnDOT's utility website at
www.dot.state.mn.us/tecsup/utilitv . Please direct any questions regarding permit requirements
to Buck Craig (651-582-1447) of MnDOT's Metro Permits Section.
Survey comments:
· At the time of the plat review for this proposed development, an "existing conditions" survey was
not included in the material supplied by the developer/City of Chanhassen. We have received an
existing conditions survey and asked the MnlDOT Surveys shop to review it.

They have recommended that the plat be revised by labeling the Mn/DOT right-of-way on the
plat between the two "found" iron [markers]. For questions on these points, please call Bruce
Wetherbee, Mn/DOT Metro West Surveys, at (763) 797-3110.
Thank you again for this opportunity to review these development plans. Please address all initial future
correspondence for development activity such as plats and site plans to:

Mn/DOT document submittal guidelines require three (3) complete copies of plats and two (2) copies of
other review documents including site plans. Failure to provide three (3) copies of a plat and/or two (2)
copies of other review documents will make a submittal incomplete and delay Mn/DOT's 30-day review
and response process to development proposals. If you have the Property Id # available, please include
that with the submitted materials. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation in providing the necessary
number of copies, as this will prevent us from having to delay and/or return incomplete submittals.
If you have any questions regarding this review please feel free to contact me at (651) 582-1378.
Sincerely,
