Description Total Project Cost $1,700,000
This annual project includes televising,repairs and rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer The program also detects and eliminates points of
entry of ground water and surface water into the City sanitary sewer system Projects have been identified from the 2006 Inflow and Infiltration
Report and aspects of the program are included in the annual street project The projects were reviewed by Metropolitan Council and approved in
lieu of surcharge fees.
Justification
City staff has identified numerous older sewer Imes that are in need of repair The City of Chanhassen pays the Metropolitan Council for sewage
treatment Those payments are based on the amount of flow generated by the City of Chanhassen Surface water and ground water that makes its
way into the system either through breaks,displaced joints,manhole covers,or private connections to the system mcrease the amount charged to
the City for sewage disposal and increasing the load on the City's lift stations

Budget Impact/Other
The efforts may decrease operational costs,MCES fees and emergency call outs It is also the City's intent to use connection charges to help fund
for those costs It is the City's belief that as new customers come on line those connection fees should help fund future infiltration problems

WHEREAS,pursuant to a request for quotes for the 2016 Sanitary Sewer Televising (I/I)
Project,two quotes were received and opened The quotes are as follows.

AND WHEREAS,Pipe Services Corporation is the lowest responsible quoter with a total
quote amount of$25,243.80.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Chanhassen City Council.
1. The mayor and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Sewer
Services, Inc in the name of the City of Chanhassen for the 2016 Sanitary Sewer Televising
I/I) Project No 16-02 according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City
Council and on file in the office of the city clerk.
2 The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest
bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 27th day of April, 2015.

As requested, we have prepared a quotation for cleaning and television inspection of approximately 19, 417
linear feet of sanitary sewer in the City of Chanhassen, MN.
Sanitary
jet/Vacuum cleaning and color pan & tilt televising of approximately 13,973 linear feet of
$12,994.80
8" - 24" sanitary sewer on street .93 per linear foot.
jet/Vacuum cleaning and color pan & tilt televising of approximately 5,444 linear feet of
$12,249.00
18" - 27" sanitary sewer in easement @ $2.25 per linear foot. (includes use of easement
equipment as required)
Total $25,243.80
Storm
Our bid is bared on the following prodsians and understandings:
1. CONTRACTOR to provide 2 typed reports and DVD's for televised services. Our new reporting
system will be able to provide you with 4 color stills of major incidents plus a summary report of all
"significant " incidents. All televising will be in certified PACP format with an exportable database
for GIS Cattegraph import To improve accuracy of data your GIS specialist can provide us with
your GIS data for import directly into our reporting system.
2. CITY understands that if there is any toot blockage in lines requiring a reverse set -up during
televising that the line will have an additional charge for televising. We will notify CITY of the
problems as they occur.
3. Any root cutting required would be billed on a flat hourly rate. CONTRACTOR to notify CITY if
any problems occur.
4. Actual footage will be billed.
5. CONTRACTOR to be allowed to draw water from CITY fire hydrants at no additional charge.
6. CONTRACTOR will collect and dispose of debris at a dump site provided by the CITY.
7. CITY to provide sewer maps and manhole numbering system and to expose all manholes.
Acceptance of Proposal
The above prices, specifications and conditions are satisfactory and are hereby accepted. Pipe Services
Corporation is authorized to do the work as specified.
